How to use a SoftRAID startup volume with High Sierra

If you're using High Sierra, and booting up from a SoftRAID volume, you'll need to follow the steps given in this forum post, since the macOS High Sierra Installer does not recognize SoftRAID volumes as valid startup volumes.

Hello There, Guest! Register
permissions for RAID 0?

I know that external RAIDs, (actually mine is an internal m.2 SSD PCIe RAID 0 in a 2010 MacPro in PCIe Slot 2), are supposed to be set to "Ignore ownership on this volume" correct? When I have that checked I have to authenticate to write to the volume. When unchecked, I have directories within the RAID that have different permissions.

For instance the RAID's permissions when "ignore ownership" is checked are:

user: Read & Write
user: Read & Write
staff: Read & Write
everyone: Read

When ownership is unchecked its:

user: Read & Write
system: Read & Write
wheel: Read & Write
everyone: Read only

Some directories are:

user: Read & Write
user: Read & Write
system: Read & Write
everyone: Read only

Others are:

user: Read & Write
user: Read & Write
wheel: Read & Write
everyone: Read only

Here's an example:

when checked:

drwxrwxr-x+ 21 user staff 714 Dec 2 22:25 Folder1
drwxrwxr-x+ 14 user staff 476 Dec 2 23:37 Folder2

when not checked:

drwxrwxr-x+ 21 user staff 714 Dec 2 22:25 Folder1
drwxrwxr-x+ 14 user wheel 476 Dec 2 23:37 Folder2

Something seems wrong with this. Can you tell me what it's supposed to be and the terminal command to use?

Thanks you..

Here are a couple links that may help. since this is a data volume, assuming you are the only user (If there are multiple users logging in, not much you can do, this will continue to happen), then try the get info idea and change ownerships on the entire volume, including "Apply to all enclosed items".
