What They're Saying About SoftRAID
"A good product becomes the very best when customers receive first-class service and support. I think SoftRAID has achieved that. Well done! - to each and every member of the SoftRAID team and keep up the excellent work."
- Sameer Ashraf (Sam), Creative Director / Senior Partner, Transcend Communications Ltd., Nairobi, Kenya
"SoftRAID has brought peace to my mind! I insisted on some sort of mirroring of a production machine here (I work in a weekly newspaper) -- a link in our production chain that has made it a habit (it has happened three times) of having a fatal HD crash just before deadline. It hasn't crashed yet after installing SoftRAID, though, but I'm sure it will some day, and then I'll laugh it in the face and replace the faulty HD while SoftRAID keeps the other running!"
- Jorn Stoylen, Ukeavisen Ledelse, Norway
"Thanks. I love your product. I was scared to try it but it seems pretty much bullet proof."
- Michael E. Robert, VP Technical Services, American Dryer
"Attention iTunes users, SoftRAID is a must have product. It provided the peace of mind and incentive that I needed to import my 400+ music CDs into iTunes. SoftRAID has worked perfectly since the install. The ability to see in real time if data errors occur is invaluable. I know my music collection is safe, thanks to SoftRAID!"
- Greg Lynn, Campbell, CA
"Just wanted to let you know that this product is awesome! I love it so much. I know that if I ever need it to, it's going to save my butt. I think it's wonderful!"
- Jeremy Goldsworthy, Linked Technologies, Inc.
"I love your great customer service! It's nice to receive the latest updates as soon as they're ready without having to lift a finger..."
- Green Leaf Graphics, Inc.
"While traveling, my 12 inch powerbook was taken, and while that was not good, I was able to readily get back to work, only having lost a very small amount of data. I had been mirroring my 12 inch powerbook to drives at home. I've become a walking billboard for you folks, telling anyone who will listen."
- Greg Stasko, Data Direct
"I bought SoftRAID last year to use on an XServe at my school. I got a second Xserve this summer and when I was pricing it out for my principal, I had SoftRAID included as essential software. Great product."
- Byron Tracy, Independent School District No. 196
"Great service, great product - good to use a product that is supported so well."
- Adam Dennis, Coretech, Australia
"SoftRAID is what I have always needed. I will shower it with praises and support at VersionTracker."
- Sielas
"Just thought I'd write a quick THANK YOU for the great software. The solution I've been dreaming of, and every bit as good as all the reviews say. I slept better last night. Plus, though I'm keeping Retrospect for some volumes, SoftRAID is obviously gratifyingly instantaneous."
- Jamey Lamar
"By the way, I want to compliment you. You have always provided outstanding, virtually instantaneous support. Few companies provide his :-)"
- Brian
"I've been using SoftRAID 3.1 on a G5 2.5GHz PowerMac running an Atto UL4D PCI-X with 4X Cheetahs in a 280GB 15K RPM striped RAID in addition to combined mirrored and striped 2x250GB SATA drives in the G5 and 4X250GB stripped Lacie FW800 drives. My applications are HD video editing and huge file photo editing. It works great and has significantly improved performance and flexibility over Apple and ATTO RAID. You really do outstanding work and I appreciate it."
- John Sien
"Having used SoftRAID 2 for years, it was no surprise that version 3 kicks ass. I guess that greatest compliment I can pay to SoftRAID 3 is that I hardly know it's there -- it just works, quite well. "
John Turkel, JT Designs
"SoftRaid for OSX is finally here! I've tested on both a modern G4 machine running OSX 10.2.6 and a legacy Power Tower Pro running OSX 10.2.6 with XpostFacto. It has performed flawlessly under stress and is definitely rock solid. I've been waiting for this for a long time."
- Marcus Hall, San Francisco, CA
"As an honored SoftRaid beta user, I was so busy with projects that I had no time to feedback or download the betas since b7 yet little did I realize that all my projects were running on the b7 RAID drives (as I frequently change my icons according to my work task)!
The compatibility with eMagic Logic (5.5.1) and Motu DP (4.0.1) running at least 16 tracks worked seamlessly and without a hitch throughout. Ever since the usage of SoftRaid, I no longer face the problem I had with my RAID card of high CPU consumption. SoftRaid's CPU consumption was close to minimal that it allows my CPU resources to be properly utilized for my projects! It goes to show that it displayed even better performance than a hardware RAID.
This is one of those investments that will never let you down at an incredibly cost-effective price. I seriously recommend SoftRaid to any musician or anyone!" OPERATION IS AS SMOOTH AS SMOOTHIES!
- Richard Tan, Mastering Engineer/ProAudio Evangelist, TheRedMAU
"Congratulations Softraid.. This has to be the most reliable and flexible RAID solution that I have come across on any platform for many years. It has the best features for configurations and under OS X is by far the most stable too for digital editing solutions. After having edited digital video files in excess of 300GB on our RAID unit over an extended period of time, it proved to be exceptionally stable and justified its place on my system. I am sold on it and will recommend it to all my associates in the industry here. Again thanks for a great product that is world class.."
Catherine & Dareth Flavell, Design-A-Video Services, Australia
"When Yale Pathology needed a Raid solution for their Xserve that Apple could not supply, Softraid was there to give a hand with Softraid 3.0."
- Janos Lobb, Core Manager, Department of Pathology, Yale School of Medicine
"My experience using SoftRAID has been excellent. I noticed when using Apple's OS X RAID software that a problem had caused one of my drives to occasionally be missing upon startup. Once I converted my Seagate Ultra160 SCSI array to a RAID 0 SoftRAID array, that problem instantly vanished. This software is SOLID and has performed perfectly since the first install."
- Jonathan Schalliol, VP Business Development & Finance, Information in Place, Inc.
"Look, we're just dumb photographers who want data safety. We're just a small three-person business with a single server and a few desktops and laptops. We appreciate the convenience of automatically re-building out- of-sync disk arrays. And the convenience of quick notification when that happens. SoftRAID, for us, is an integral part of our backup strategy. Much of our data isn't only text and numbers, much of our data is picture files. (Okay, okay, it's really *all* numbers once it's in the computer.) The pictures aren't quite as precious as children but, like childhood, we photograph things that are constantly vanishing. SoftRAID helps prevent their further disappearance. How could any historic preservationist or archivist work without RAID?"
- Walter Dufresne, Photographer
"To all Macintosh Engineers and Administrators. This is the single most important piece of software for your server next to the Mac OS itself. It's hard to believe but SoftRAID 3 is actually an improvement over SoftRAID 2 and I can think of no better testimonial than that."
- Kevin Billingsley, Enterprise Director, Apple Certified Technical Coordinator, MacUpgrades
"Hi.
This is Matsuyama.
I've tried it at once.
That was completely final beta.
I'll use it continuously.
'The world's fastest disk driver for Mac OS', I love this way.
Good luck!"
Love, Peace, & Happiness, Satoshi Matsuyama, Prestige Publishing
"Installing SoftRAID and setting up your drives as a RAID is very simply and with just a few clicks you are ready to go. This far the best tool for creating different RAID systems AND it's very reliable. I never had any problems using it during the beta stage. For all users: go get it :)"
- Tom Schlander, Headadmin of go2xserve.com, Germany
"SoftRAID continues to be THE bulletproof RAID software for the Mac. We still have Workgroup Servers running SoftRAID that haven't been restarted in years! Version 3.0 carries this tradition into the OS X world with rock-solid stability."
Ryan Grimes, Tech Support Specialist/Network Manager, Community Consolidated School District 89
