FAQ: Using SoftRAID 3.6.4 with Leopard

SoftRaid 3.6.6 will offer full support for Leopard. We are well into beta testing on SoftRAID 3.6.6, which we expect to release sometime in November. We need time to perform a full test cycle on the released version of Leopard, and fix any issues we find.

SoftRAID 3.6.4 and Leopard on Intel Macs
SoftRAID 3.6.4 can be used with Intel processors. The Leopard 10.5 install DVD will install onto any SoftRAID volume. This includes mirror, non-RAID, and striped volumes. We recommend the SoftRAID command "rebuild Boot Cache" anytime there are problems starting up from your SoftRAID volume. If you encounter any problems using SoftRAID and Leopard please contact us at support@softraid.com.

SoftRAID 3.6.4 and Leopard on PowerPC Systems
The Leopard DVD does not recognize SoftRAID volumes as being bootable disks, and will not install onto them. We understand the cause, and are hard at work on solutions. SoftRAID 3.6.6 will make this process much easier. If you want to install Leopard on a PowerPC system, send an email to support@softraid.com for assistance.

e-mail: We are happy to answer any questions you may have. Please contact us at sales@softraid.com for presales or other product information, and at support@softraid.com for technical support. Support queries are handled promptly, are usually answered within the hour, and never take more than 24 hours.

Phone: Phone support is only available by purchase through the Kagi Store. Single Incident support is available for $39 per incident and annual support is available for $99. After phone support is purchased you will be contacted by e-mail by our technical support staff to set up a phone appointment.
