SOFTRAID 3.0 goes Beta!

In an effort to include testing for Apple's new G5 architecture in its new SoftRAID 3 Mac OS X product, SoftRAID, LLC today announced an extension of its beta test program. SoftRAID 3's new ship date will be the end of August.

SoftRAID, LLC, today entered its third-party beta test phase for SoftRAID 3.0. The long-awaited, Mac OS X version supports RAID levels 0 and 1 volumes on any combination FireWire, ATA, SCSI and Fibre Channel drives. SoftRAID 3 is expected to ship on July 25, 2003.

SoftRAID 3 is a giant step forward in RAID software for the Mac. Its new sleek interface is multi-threaded, powerful and intuitive. Users will be able to easily update their existing OS 9 SoftRAID volumes and Apple's RAID volumes to SoftRAID OS X volumes. In addition, SoftRAID offers automatic rebuilding of Mirror volumes, volume optimization, and a new concept of Mirror sets, all with the high reliability and performance SoftRAID users have come to expect. Advanced features such as I/O counts, disk error tracking, and conversion of standard volumes to RAID volumes keep SoftRAID 3 the leader in volume management.

The suggested retail price for SoftRAID 3.0 will be $149, with upgrades at $99. SoftRAID 2.2.2 users who purchased or upgraded SoftRAID after August 1, 2002 will be entitled to a free upgrade to SoftRAID 3. (OEM bundles do not qualify for this offer.)
