Panther compatible version of SoftRAID 3 ships!
Mendocino, CA. SoftRAID LLC today announced its new Panther compatible SoftRAID 3, version 3.0.1. Although this release comes
right on the heels of the initial 3.0 release, SoftRAID was pleased to
be able to incorporate Panther specific features such as support for
Case Sensitive HFS+ volumes and the ability to enable or disable
Journaling. SoftRAID engineers also added support for displaying disk
bay numbers in XServe and PowerMac G5 drive position information in the
Disk tiles, to give server administrators more information when
monitoring data flow. "SoftRAID 3 has had fantastic market acceptance and we think the enthusiasm will continue with this new release, says Mark James, SoftRAID's President. "We are competing against a free product but are
seeing more users switching from Apple's RAID to SoftRAID. Endusers
need the increased flexibility and reliability that SoftRAID offers
over Apple's RAID." SoftRAID, LLC also revised its web site, reorganizing it and making it
easier for users and prospective customers to find what they are
looking for. "A demonstration version of SoftRAID 3.0.1 is now
available on the website," said Miriam Block, Managing Director. "We
hope this will give more people a chance to preview the exceptional
interface and feature set we've built into the product." A custom
version for dealers is also available by contacting sales@softraid.com.
SoftRAID 3.0.1 is available for purchase for $129 at www.softraid.com.
Current 3.0 owners have been automatically upgraded by E-mail and should
